In BIID’s priority sectors, mobilising investment depends as much on the availability of resources as on the quality of the projects seeking them. Insufficient maturity, fragile business models, poorly managed risks or incomplete implementation frameworks can hinder partners’ commitment. BIID addresses these factors in order to strengthen the credibility of initiatives and create the conditions necessary for them to access appropriate funding.
The main investment needs relate in particular to
-
Insufficient maturity, fragile business models, poorly managed risks or incomplete implementation frameworks can hinder partners’ commitment.
These challenges take different forms depending on the sector. An energy project, a transport infrastructure scheme, an agricultural programme, a digital initiative or a scheme aimed at SMEs are not subject to the same requirements in terms of costs, regulation, governance, revenue, risks or operations. BIID therefore tailors its approach to the specific characteristics of each sector and the actual constraints of the project.
The aim is to develop an identified need into a structured, comprehensible investment opportunity that is sufficiently well-prepared to enable a credible dialogue with the relevant partners.
